All our nurseries have recently introduced “Forest School” activities into our Pre School curriculum making us the first on the Wirral to embrace this innovative approach to outdoor play.
The philosophy of Forest school is to encourage and inspire individuals through outdoor experiences, this helps them develop a good understanding of the world around them using their emotions, imaginations and senses.”
We use local woodland in addition to our own outdoor areas to promote Forest School, providing activities such as mini beast hunts, picture making with natural materials, leaf matching. They become aware of the sounds and smells associated with woodland and learn to respect and appreciate their natural surroundings.
